Why can’t you change the GPS setting?
When Android phones first came out, any developer could change this setting at will. Some apps took advantage of that feature and secretly turned on the GPS setting without the owner’s knowledge and shortened battery life considerably on the phones. The response was to disable all third-party access to change the GPS setting. The best anyone can do now is to just provide a shortcut to the GPS setting, but not actually change it.
Why can’t you change the Lock Pattern setting?
If you have never set a lock pattern before, you need to do so via the phone’s Settings first. Swidget will automatically take you there. If you are using Android 2.2 or later, changing this setting is not possible by anyone but Google or the phone vendor — which means Swidget can only take you to the proper place in the phone’s Settings to have you change it there.
